Against the backdrop of difficult market conditions and growing investor sophistication, alternative investment managers are fighting to stand out from the crowd. And with new launches every day hedge fund numbers are approaching the 10,000 milestone raising the bar and the competition for asset growth and performance even higher.

The HFMWeek European Performance Awards followed on from the success of HFMWeek’s inaugural US performance awards held in November 2007 and determined the pick of the crop in categories for hedge fund strategies, newcomers and fund of hedge funds.

The event was held on 8 May 2008 at the Royal Courts of Justice in London. The US event was held in New York’s exclusive Cipriani and gathered nominations from hundreds of hedge funds, and attracted over 400 guests from some of the US' leading hedge fund management firms.
